A good way to prepare for exams is to sit mock exams.
The conditions of the mock exam should be as close as possible
to the real exam. This not only prepares the child psychologically
for the real exam, but also gives a good indication on how
well the child is likely to perform in the real exam.
Once the mock exam has been marked, you can identitify which
areas the child can work on to improve his or her performance.
Mock examination papers are available online from
amazon . For the SATS (Key Stage 1, 2 and 3), I recommend the
Assessment Papers by Schofield and Sims
For 7+ to 11+ exams, I recommend the Bond Assessment Papers ,
published by Nelson Thornes.
Pupils wishing to gain access to schools in the premiere and first divisions of the league tables should aim at scoring above 93% in the papers of the year above their age group.
